WHY BEM ?

Family support does add so much strength and continuity to coffee work. It is a fundamental fact that without the support of family, coffee work is hard to succeed. I believe coffee work shall be generational. That is why I took the first letter of my children’s name to name my company. Really emphasizing the idea of passing down values and knowledge through generations has a powerful foundation for the business and truly adds depth for branding

SILESHI AMBAYE

With an academic background in plant science, I have had the privilege of working as a coffee agronomist in the Kaffa Zone, the birthplace of Arabica coffee. My education and hands-on experience in coffee agronomy, from seed preparation to fine processing, fueled my passion for becoming a qualified cupper.

My cupping journey began in 2009 with the establishment of the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange, where I grew into a senior cupper at the Export Coffee Inspection and Certification Center. As a certified Arabica coffee  Q-Grader since 2009, I have gained invaluable insights into the coffee industry.
